About:

George Boughton, painter and illustrator, grew up in the United States, but settled in London after studying painting in Paris. He was a member of the Royal Academy (1896) and a member of the New England Institute of Painters in Water Colours (1879). Like Leighton and Millais, Boughton lived in a custom-built studio house, designed by Norman Shaw.
