Apparently a detail of the full studio portrait, showing Woolner standing beside a stool bearing his bust of Tennyson, apparently at work, with rows of portrait busts lining the wall behind him.

The sculptor is represented in his studio at work on a marble bust of the late Lord Tennyson."
