Description
The custom- built studio house of John Everett Millais in Palace Gate. A square, conservative Italianate house with Sicilian marble floors and carved Bücknow fireplaces. It was designed by architect Philip Hardwick but constructed by William Cubitt & Co. in 1873-76. The largest room was Millais’s studio, featuring carpeted floors and tapestry-covered walls.
